Mailchimp and Shopify Breakup Solution – Klaviyo

MailChimp removed their Shopify integration for all new accounts some time ago, and started phasing out the integration for all existing accounts beginning on May 12.

What???

That means that all your Shopify customer data, popups, and dynamic products will no longer be automagically connected and synced between the two platforms.

MailChimp has provided some (limited) options for their users to ensure that customer and product data remains integrated.

The options:

  1. Use a third-party app
  2. Import customer data manually
  3. Use custom code to activate certain features (pop-ups and retargeting ads)

For more information on those options are located >> here.

While MailChimp is a great platform for those just getting started with email marketing and automation, Klayvio is the platform that the pros use – and you should too. Klaviyo is a powerful yet straightforward email, automation and marketing platform that makes it simple and convenient to create personalized emails that speak directly to your customers and drive tons of sales.

Klaviyo was created by data scientists and engineers (nerds), but built for eCommerce businesses and digital marketers. Transactions, Conversions, and Sales are the key metrics – not just opens and clicks. Creating beautiful and functional emails is simple and intuitive, with little or no HTML knowledge needed.

Some of the key features and benefits of Klaviyo include:

  • Easy Integration With Major Ecommerce PlatformsKlaviyo easily integrates with Magento, WooCommerceShopify, Bigcommerce, Amazon. It also integrates with tools like POS systems, CRM platforms, payment software, Rewards programs, help desk software, etc..

  • Major Segmentation – Automatic segment creation and dynamic management allows you to send more personalized messages and save time.

  • Automation With Tons Of Triggers – Create automated email Flows for numerous customer actions (or inaction) and customer milestones.

  • Tons of Templates and Design Tools – Several automated email templates come standard with every new Klaviyo account. Tweaking templates or designing your own (or getting help from an Agency :0) is easy with drag-and-drop functionality.

  • Transaction and ROI Metrics – Get real data; like transaction and sales data, which is the focus of Klaviyo’s reporting and analytics.

  • Flexible Pricing Structure – Pay based on the contacts in your list; not for extra advanced features .

We’re big fans of Klaviyo over here at 530medialab and highly recommend that any Shopify or WooCommerce Business use this automation and segmentation platform, even if the MailChimp / Shopify breakup doesn’t hurt you.
